Our Son Getting Married

We are happy and proud to see our son get married, and glad to accept Cheyna as our daughter.

His wife is very close to her mom and hasn't seen her in a year. Within that time they met, fell in love, got married and also having a baby.  Her mom lives in Alaska and they are in constant communication with each other. She's very excited about seeing her this weekend.

I've been talking to her mom on Face book and also looking forward to meeting her. We made it to Houston Friday and met her at the JW Marriott hotel that afternoon. She was out there for business with her youngest daughter.

We all went to lunch so we could talk and get to know each other. Although she is my son's mother-in-law and I know he is probably nervous, I can't help but feel that my husband and I are being presented as part of what her expectancy from our son as her daughter's husband and father to her grandson is going to be.

Meeting someone for the first time is a little nerve wracking. It doesn't matter if it's a friend of a friend, a business associate, or someone on the street, you always wonder what they really felt or thought about you.

Will she like us and feel comfortable about us? Will she judge us and think...oh I don't know if I'm satisfied with what I see? Or, will she just accept us for who we are and be non judgemental?

We met her mom, liked her, and accepted her just like we did her father. I'm looking forward to our families enjoying our children and grandchildren for years to come. We eagerly anticipates the birth of our grandson with love and excitement!

I'll leave them in the hands of the Lord...

Your blogspot is blossoming beautifly!!! I feel so honored to be a subject. I had such a great time last weekend and enjoyed having some time to catch up on our roadtrip. I really enjoyed seeing my Mom and sister and Mom made it very clear she was very satisfied and pleased that I have you as a new family. She thought you guys were great and we all know she just Loves Alex. Sometimes when I'm on the telephone with her Alex will just snatch the phone right out of my hands and talk to her for like an hour! Rude, yes but I love to see them communicating and conversing the way they do. I feel the same way about you and Dad, as though I could come to you with anything. I feel so truly blessed to be able to have a family like you guys. That extends from the MJ all the way up to Big Momma and our Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. As Zaine's arrival quickly approaches I just thank God for all of you and the assurance of knowing he'll be loved abundantly.
