My Niece "Katrina" and Hubby "Danny"

My daughters and I went home to visit family this weekend. Two of my sisters are sick, two sister-in-laws, one nephew and my mom is not feeling well.

There is absolutely nothing that compares to the love and joy I get when I go home. Taking care of my family, loving, praying, and cooking for them was such joy. That's what they always do for me.

We had a wonderful time. I must say it was one of the strangest things I ever seen having so many people in one family sick at the same time.

I know you should pursue your dreams and opportunities in life. But, that means you can't be there for family as much as you want too.

I still deal with feeling like I've abandoned them. We can't call or visit them enough to make up for the fact that we are not there.

Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever be completely free of this feeling. I hate the thought of my family needing me and I'm not there. I just need them to understand we have a lot going on in our lives too.

We may have moved away but we still love them as much as ever. We always try to be there when they need us. That's what really counts.

Friday Night "Snowy Night"

My husband and I have been going back and forth all evening trying to decide how we want to spend the evening. I am faced with the thought of how long my day has been. There is snow everywhere. I'm very afraid of the dangerous highways.

I went to work at 7am because there is snow and ice on the road. I didn't leave the building all day. I just got home at 6pm I'm pretty tired, but my husband was off all day and wants to go out to dinner.

I need some rest. We can do something tomorrow when I'm refreshed!
